The Woods Hole Film Festival is proud to announce the 11th Annual Workshop Series. As in past years the workshops highlight the craft of filmmaking by offering national talents to regional workshop participants.

Sunday, July 28 ­ Tuesday, July 30 (Please bring your own DV Camcorder.)

Working with Leighton Pierce, experimental video and film artist, you'll learn how to translate active and immediate emotional states into externalized images drawn from the seemingly mundane world around you.

Using the latest editing technology from contributing sponsor Apple Computer® you'll edit the bundles of images each other produce, learn how to transform the edits with sound, refine the editing and carefully consider the internal logic of each piece that you'll get to present to the group.

Jumpstart Screenwriter's Workshop with Abra Bigham.
Monday, July 29 ­ Tuesday, July 30.

Join Abra Bigham, an award-winnings writer, lyricist, producer, performer and teacher for
a fun, hands-on, on-your feet and in-your-face workshop designed to give first-timers and old-timers a selection of easy and entertaining ways to conquer writing roadblocks.

Bigham, the founder of the Writers Wing will use her tried-and-true techniques to help you get structure without stress and to learn how to quickly key into character. There will be storyboard speed drills, plus lots of unique, practical strategies and techniques for blasting through your blocks and getting on with the job of writing.

Wednesday July 31 ­ Saturday August 3.

Independent filmmaker Mark Gasper returns to lead this popular workshop. You'll get hands-on experience in all of the elements necessary to direct a scene, including; Interpreting a Script, Pre-Production Breakdown, Working with Actors, Directing on the Set and Editing a Scene using the latest editing technology from contributing sponsor Apple Computer®.

You'll leave the workshop with finished product in hand.

Project Development and Distribution Workshop with Laura Bernieri.
Saturday, August 3.

Laura Bernieri, founder of Harvard Square Scriptwriters shares her experiences on developing scripts and turning them into films that can be positioned strategically in the marketplace.

Laura will offer first-hand case studies from her work including Associate Producer credits on Squeeze and Darien Gap (Sundance, '96), Co-Producer on Next Stop Wonderland (Sundance '98) and Marketing Consultant on Death a Love Story (Sundance, '99). She'll also talk about what it was like to be the distributor of Passage to Paradise and Co-Executive Producer on Could Be Worse! (Sundance 2000).
